How does the process of ecological succession following a forest fire mirror the chaos, struggle, and growth brought about by necessary catastrophe in the human world? A cathartic journey that begins in a descent to madness and unraveling of the psyche, then undergoes a painful metamorphosis in order to forge a new self and ecosystem, stronger than the one that came before. Aggravated by the current political state of America and the historical systems of corruption, oppression, and abuse of power that appear evergreen, I often feel that the only way to truly progress is to let all of our current structure fall, and to build something new from the ground up. In other words, we might just have to Let It Burn.
