I am a multimedia artist and choreographer with particular interest in exploring themes relating to ecology, queerness, and social justice; finding inspiration in the natural world and influenced by political climate. Whether it be forest fires and ecological succession, mycelial networks, insects, pigeon anthropology or soil systems, I enjoy learning about the other inhabitants of the earth and diving into the world from their perspective. 

 

Through this research I often find unique stories that mirror back our own human experience. I believe we can learn a lot from spending time in nature and observing our environment. I aim to bring these observations to the stage and ignite conversations about how we navigate through our own lives and those of others. Sometimes I just aim to bring a little whimsy back into our lives with dancing bugs and disco sunsets.

 

My creative drive extends far beyond dance, leading me to explore these ideas through textile creation, paper mache, sculpture and puppetry. As I further develop my practice, I hope to integrate these mediums into my choreography to create immersive and awe-inspiring performances.

 

I seek equally to tell stories and to bring them to life through fully produced spectacle. My strength is in creating unique worlds and dance that envelops you entirely. I create performance that integrates athleticism, technicality, fierce musicality and theatrical artistry. My background in classical ballet informs my composition and artistic research with a strong basis of technique paired with an insatiable curiosity for new perspectives and whimsical interpretations. I find joy in solving creative puzzles and distorting classical shapes with intentional abandon. Through my dance, I aim to foster connection with all creatures of the earth, share the joy of movement, and ignite the soul of my audience through compelling movement and stories.
